The notes I write for my own students

I teach math for a living. These are the packs I hand to my students, set in LaTeX and saved as PDFs you can print or mark up on a tablet. Pick a topic, pay, and the file arrives in your inbox.

How I work

Written by me, typeset properly

No stock content and no filler. Every pack starts as a lesson I taught, then gets set in LaTeX so the maths stays readable on paper and on screen.

  • I write every page

The explanations come from lessons I have actually given, then I rewrite them until the shortest honest version is on the page.

One tutor, nine years of lessons

  • You get a PDF by email

The file arrives after payment. Print it, or mark it up on a tablet — it is searchable and prints cleanly in black and white.

  • Built on real mistakes

The margin warnings are the slips my students keep making, copied straight off their corrected papers.

What a page actually looks like

Real pages from the packs: one idea per page, a worked example beside each rule, and a note in the margin where students usually slip.

  • Typeset notes page on the unit circle with a labelled diagram and a worked example
    Unit circle, from Trigonometry Unlocked
  • Typeset notes page on quadratic functions with a parabola sketch and a transformations table
    Transformations, from Functions & Graphs
  • Typeset notes page listing differentiation rules with two worked examples
Derivative rules, from Calculus: First Steps

Usually whatever their class is on this term.

Questions I get asked

If something is still unclear, email me and I'll answer it myself.

How are the PDFs made?

I draft each pack from my own lesson notes, then typeset it in LaTeX — the same system used for maths textbooks. Formulas, diagrams and graphs are drawn to scale rather than photographed, so nothing is blurry when you zoom in or print it. What you download is the finished PDF — that is the only file you ever need.

What is in a note pack?

A worked example next to every rule, diagrams and graphs drawn to scale, practice questions with full solutions, a summary page worth printing, and the usual mistakes flagged in the margin. Pack length follows the topic: some need six pages, some need one.

How do I get the file?

You pay, then the PDF is emailed to you automatically along with a receipt. You can also sign in and re-download it from your orders page whenever you need it again.

What if you rewrite a pack later?

You get the updated file at no extra cost. When I improve a pack after teaching it again, the new version goes out to everyone who bought it.

Can I share the notes with my class?

No — each pack is licensed for your own study. You can print it and write on it as much as you like, but reselling it, uploading it or passing the PDF to other people is not allowed. If you teach and want copies for a group, email me and we'll sort out a fair arrangement.

What if the pack is not right for me?

Tell me what you expected and I'll either point you to the right pack or refund you. These are digital files, so I would rather fix the mismatch than argue about it.
